British yachtswoman Pip Hare will share an exclusive insight into her world as a single-handed ocean racing sailor, and how heightened self-awareness has helped her, during a free webinar hosted by global people development company Insights.
The webinar, which takes place on Thursday 30 July, will see Pip share some highs and lows from her almost 30-year career as a solo sailor, and how self-awareness has been vital to her success.
Hare recently secured a title sponsor for her attempt to sail single-handed, non-stop around the world as a competitor in the 2020-2021 Vendee Globe. She will skipper the 60ft IMOCA class boat in the Vendee Globe in November, a feat achieved by fewer than 87 experienced sailors throughout the competition’s 30 plus year history.
Pip said: “My entire career has been focused on breaking down barriers to get to this point. It’s been a lonely path to get this far, and I’m pleased to have an opportunity later this month to share some of the highs, lows and learns with others.”
Insights Head of Learning and Experience Marcus Wylie added: “We’re continuing to experience disruption and uncertainty in our daily lives, and this is something Pip is experienced in managing. I think people will be really interested to hear from her and how she’s harnessing the power of self-awareness to navigate those challenges and be successful.”
Insights has been running free weekly webinars since before lockdown, with the aim of building a virtual community and keeping learning alive. Average weekly attendance is around 400 people, with people dialling in from around the world.
