Dundee-based learning and development company Insights is celebrating after its Chief Executive Andy Lothian was recognised as the overall winner in the Scottish leg of the 2016 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year UK awards.
The esteemed award was presented to Andy at an exclusive event at The Gleneagles Hotel on Thursday 23 June.
Andy said: "I’m humbled and honoured to have been recognised among such a talented group of Scottish entrepreneurs.”
Now in its 18th year in the UK, and 30th year globally, the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards celebrates the spirit and contribution of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial businesses.
29 Scottish entrepreneurs were shortlisted in the awards and evaluated on a number of criteria, including: entrepreneurial spirit; innovation; strategic direction; financial performance; national and global impact; and the companies’ approach to social responsibility.
The panel of judges cited Andy’s “passion, tenacity and skill in building an international business” among the key factors in their decision to recognise the Dundonian entrepreneur.
Andy now joins an exclusive group of UK regional winners from London & South, the Midlands, and North regions of the UK to vie for the coveted position of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year UK.
Andy added: “Insights has had a terrific year. We continue to be one of Dundee’s fastest growing companies, with average growth of c.17% and we’ve increased our pre-tax profit by c.26%. We’re one year into a three-year strategy to double the size of our business by putting our customers and our people at the heart of everything we do.”
